How to check your Amazon numbers when an agency runs your account
You can see most of the key numbers yourself in a few minutes, without changing anything your agency does. It's not about catching anyone out. Knowing the numbers helps you make more informed decisions and have better conversations with your team.
Numbers you can check on Amazon
- Category rank: open your listing and find Best Sellers Rank.
- Search position: search your main keywords and see where you appear.
- Who's around you: open your category list and compare the products just above you.
- Your listing: check that the price, rating, review count, stock and seller look as you expect.
Numbers in your own Seller Central account
Your account belongs to your business, so make sure you can log in yourself. Sales and traffic reports, advertising figures and your account's health are all worth a look. If you're the primary account holder, you can see who has access under Settings and User Permissions.
Questions worth asking your agency
- Which keywords matter most for us, and how have they moved?
- Who are our main competitors, and where do we sit against them?
- What changed this month, and why?
- What are you planning next, and how will we know if it worked?
Rankings move for lots of reasons, including competitors, stock and seasonality, and results often take time. A short-term dip isn't a sign that anyone's doing a bad job, so talk it through before drawing conclusions.
See it on the Amazon page instead
SellerRanks is a Chrome extension that shows your rank and who is around you on the Amazon pages you open. It doesn't connect to your account or change anything. It's a one-time payment with no subscription, and it won't replace a full research suite. See how it works.
